CAP Artsy Elephant Sale
Coming in November 2012!
We’ve all had it – ‘décor shift’…… the southwestern art that doesn’t go with the new ghost chairs in the dining room,
the Sepik River mask that doesn’t work with the new shabby chic couch and the portrait of Aunt Emily that doesn’t go
with anything. They are sitting in the closet or the garage, the kids don’t want them but they’re good art – too good
for a garage sale even if you could work up the energy. Problem solved, contribute these paintings, carvings and
sculpture – and any art books or other décor items – to the CAP Artsy Elephant Sale! Give your conscience a rest,
these items will have a fine new home and the proceeds go to a good cause. All contributions are confidential and tax
deductible after appropriate appraisal. Remember, one man’s fish is another man’s poisson!
In October, CAP took its fourth annual Art Field Trip, traveling to
LA via Amtrak to tour the LA Skyline with docents from LA
Conservancy. We were blessed by a beautiful day to walk and
learn about the changing face of LA since the 1970s including
many impressive public art installation.
SAVE THE DATE! Saturday, October 6, 2012 for CAP’s Art Field Trip - you’re in for a real treat!
Wrapping up the year with our November Annual Meeting,
we were fortunate to have Margaret Brown elected to our
Board. Margaret brings a tremendous love of art and
several fresh ideas, including next year’s fundraiser – the
Elephant (not white) Sale.
